New Balance started in 1906 in Boston, Massachusetts by British Immigrant William J Riley and started New Balance Arch Support Company which specialised in creating arch supports and also orthopaedic footwear for maximum comfort and balance creating a 'New Balance' for all customers. In 1988 New Balance released the now legendary 574 into there range as a technical runner but was quickly adopted into the lifestyle range because of it's supreme comfort. Nowadays New Balance has made huge waves in the lifestyle range with styles like the 550 and the 2002r which has put New Balance in the eye's of everyone.
